Prickly Cactus Party
Embrace the summer heat with all things cactus! It’s easy to set the desert scene with cactus-themed tableware, some plants from around the house, and a DIY cactus balloon backdrop! Scroll on for all the details.
These Meri Meri cactus/succulent plates inspired the whole party! Plate layering is always a good idea, and I used yellow forks and pom poms to help bring out the yellow planter pots on the larger plate and add another color to the very green and pink scheme that accompanies so many cactus-themed parties.
Balloon installations are definitely having a moment, and I didn't ever think I’d even be attempting anything that involved shaping balloons but I had these leftover green twisting balloons and had an idea to make a cactus backdrop. It’s nothing too involved or intricate, but I went for it and it turned out so much cuter than I even imagined! Seriously, if I can make it, you can make it.
I added another dimension to the green straws by taking apart a lei and making individual flowers into our own little cactus blossoms. The rest of the lei went to table confetti!
